Vulture

Ecco una vista panoramica del Vulture 1327m slm, ed ai piedi (a partire da sinistra), Rionero, Barile, Rapolla e Melfi. Su questo massiccio sono collocati l'R1, l'R2, e l'U8.

All'interno del "Gigante Addormentato" come lo definiva Orazio Flacco, famoso poeta latino, nato a Venosa, più di 2000 anni fa, a pochi chilometri da Rionero, sono presenti i famosi Laghi di Monticchio, due piccole gemme luccicanti, incastonate nel verde intenso del Monte Vulture, uno dei più antichi vulcani dell'appennino meridionale. Così appaiono i laghi a chi ha la fortuna di poterli ammirare dall'alto. Ma è soprattutto raggiungendo le verdissime sponde, sotto le gallerie di alberi che costeggiano il lago piccolo, nella leggera brezza che increspa le acque e rende meno torride le giornate d'estate, che ci si accorge di trovarsi accanto ad alcuni tra i gioielli più preziosi di cui si adorna la bella e misteriosa terra lucana.

Sarà forse per questo che la Brahmea (riportata solo sulla mia qsl!), una farfalla bella quanto rara, individuata dagli esperti solo nel 1961, ha scelto da sempre di vivere nel verde intorno ai laghi. Dal 1971 la zona è stata dichiarata riserva naturale, per salvaguardare l'habitat ideale della Brahmea.

Ma qui la natura ha dato il meglio di sé non solo nel paesaggio. Le acque minerali di Monticchio sono famose in tutta Italia per la loro purezza, il gusto frizzante assolutamente naturale, le proprietà terapeutiche. E sulle colline che circondano i laghi, sul ricco e scuro terreno vulcanico, i vigneti di uve aglianiche preparano il vino generoso che parla della Basilicata e della sua gente in giro per il mondo. L'Aglianico del Vulture, così come gli oli genuini che qui si producono, è un autentico ambasciatore della Basilicata e della sua gastronomia, ma è meglio che questo discorso per ora venga tralasciato, per lasciare spazio al mondo della Radio.

The Aglianico of the Vulture as the genuine wine and oils that here produce him, are an authentic ambassador of the Basilicata and its gastronomy, but it is better that for now this discourse is skipped, to leave space to the world of the Radio.
